“We had six weeks between moving from the Cochrane to opening the first show at the Platform and were really put through our paces. We have only been here for two months and already the students have used it in end-on configuration and for promenade pieces and are getting very creative with the staging levels in the pit. We are looking forward to a bit of breathing space to really get everything in order!

 “But I can honestly say, this place is a real pleasure, like a big birthday present! What we have ended up with is a malleable, flexible space for any event. It’s a decent professional theatre and a lot more than the student theatre we expected. We can create a profile for ourselves with this venue and develop a diverse programme to cater for a wide variety of performances and audience types.”
